We were in Williamsburg enjoying a great fall Saturday morning in December. The weather was nice, crisp enough for a sweater, and yet warm enough to shed the gloves and scarves. We watched the Christmas Parade, then found warm cider to keep me happy and off for a walk we went!
We found so many things of interest. History, history, history! After walking down the main street in Colonial Williamsburg, we take more photos and we came across an old oak tree. It was a beautiful oak tree with its limbs stretching wide, its leaves abundant and its trunk going in many directions.
It was a "perfect" tree! As we walked closer and closer, Logan noticed the tree with a different view than we had! He noticed the tree as a cousin of mine use to look at trees! He saw it as an invitation to climb!
Logan loves to climb and this tree looked like a beautiful climbing tree to a little boy that had never had an opportunity to climb a tree before!
The lesson found in this day... "Take time to enjoy life." Walk, see the world and the marvelous creations that God has blessed each of us with. You see so much more when walking than you ever see while driving...
We did things like this with Tammy, Aaron and Chris when they were little. Tammy and Aaron walked with us in the hills and woods of Massachusetts and Connecticutt, Chris walked with us in the mountains in Virginia, and Logan is enjoying our Williamsburg walks.... Memories made when we take walks, not marathons, with our kids... Tammy would always say, "Daddy, slow down...I can't keep up"!
Slow down, speed up, turn around, back up, go forward... Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and make some family memories for you to share with your family....
Enjoy your day!!!!
